Ministries

Serving those in need with compassion and love, without regard to race, color or creed is the sole mission of the Daughters of Charity.

Daughters of Charity Foundation

Our Ministries

The Daughters of Charity Foundation has a mission to provide financial support to the Daughters of Charity ministries that focus on different areas of need and care, such as food insecurity, enhancing access to healthcare, strengthening families, ensuring affordable housing, providing job training, addressing mental health concerns, combating substance abuse, aiding in recovery, and offering support to unhoused individuals.

Sisters

Sisters’ Ministry includes both the nurturing atmosphere of the Interprovincial Seminary and the serene setting of Labouré Residence at Seton Provincialate for elder and infirm sisters. At the Interprovincial Seminary, our newest sisters find spiritual formation and continued vocational discernment, guided by the wisdom of experienced and trained sisters.

Education

The Daughters of Charity co-sponsor ten schools in the Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in California and Arizona. The families have access to an affordable Catholic education and the schools assist families as needed. No student is refused for lack of funds.

Eldercare

The Daughters of Charity work to ensure the well-being of our senior community by sponsoring Hotel Dieu, St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, and Villa Siena. Through these ministries, elders in these communities have access to affordable housing, nutritious meals, and enhanced independence with supportive services, all while honoring the dignity of each person.

Social Service

The Daughters of Charity are dedicated to providing social services through a variety of ministries, including The Epiphany Center, Give Me A Chance, Maryvale, Rosalie Rendu Center, St. Louise Resource Services, and St. Vincent’s, Santa Barbara. Through these ministries, the Daughters of Charity enrich lives by offering practical support and resources to individuals and families through services such as child development, education, counseling, transitional housing, job training, access to health care and case management, and more.

Advocacy

The Daughters of Charity have a strong advocacy focus through GRACE (Gather, Respect, Advocate, Engage), GRACE End Child Poverty Institute, and Interprovincial Office of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation. Through these programs, the Daughters of Charity have a broader impact by advocating and working to address the root causes of social injustice.
